Clicking folder name causes a delay (Scanning folder 'INBOX'...)

I click INBOX. Sylpheed shows wait cursor, says Scanning folder 'INBOX'... in status bar, I wait a couple seconds, and then I see the folder contents.
It is not comfortable to wait for a folder scan every time. I would like it to be scanned only when Sylpheed checks for new email, or when I right click a folder and ask it to update it.
Please make Sylpheed scan folders in background, so I can browse messages in them while it's doing that.
